February 24th 2003:
The man who "played guitar like I had never seen" in this song is the late great Isaac Guillory and remembering the very first time I saw him play was the catalyst and inspiration for this song. There'll not be another like him. Thank you Isaac.

Diamonds in the Stream
The first time I saw him play I was just sixteen.
He played guitar, like I had never seen,
So I sat down to listen for a while.
As those harmonics rang, I didn't have a clue.
But right there and then I knew that's what I wanted to do.
So I set out determined I would try.
Anything that you want to do that's worth the while,
Is as likely to make you cry as it is to smile,
So hold on tight and get ready for the ride.
Cos there's mountains to be climbed there's valleys to be seen,
Where the sunshine above scatters diamonds in the stream.
To hold one in my hand has always been my dream.
So here I am today to sing my song,
Some of you may think I got it right and some I got it wrong.
Either way I hope you'll listen for a while,
Either way I hope you'll let me try to make you smile
